The unique pause function allows users to put anything on the bed (i.e. blanket) with no interference to the weighing process.

The weight capacity is 1100 lbs with a 0.2 lb graduation (500 kg with a 100 g graduation). The maximum patient weight is 440 lbs and the maximum weight capacity is 1100 lbs (500 kg) with a 0.2 lb graduation (0.1 kg) for the entire scale. The 984 Bed Scale is powered by an AC adapter (included) and internal rechargeable batteries provide up to 4 hours of back up. All previously determined values are stored even in the event of a power failure.
